This webinar will help employers across Scotland understand the significant changes to the Skilled Worker visa route introduced in July 2025. You will gain insight into:

  • The new higher skill threshold for individuals to be hired on this route
  • The new Temporary Shortage List (TSL)
  • Updates to the Immigration Salary List (ISL) and Scotland-specific ISL roles.

Guidance will also be provided on what employers can do when they need to hire or retain an employee whose occupation is no longer covered by the Skilled Worker route.

When is the webinar?

Wednesday 29 October 2025, 13:00 – 14:00 GMT

The webinar will give an overview of:

  • The July 2025 changes: new minimum RQF 6 skill level, ISL updates, and the new TSL
  • Which occupations are no longer eligible for sponsorship (e.g. care workers, chefs, dental nurses, teaching assistants)
  • The sectors most affected in Scotland, including care/social care, hospitality, and food processing
  • Scotland-specific ISL roles (nuclear scientists, fishing boat masters, shipbuilding) and what they mean for regional employers
  • Employer options when a role has been removed: redesign, upskilling, or alternative visa routes
